Staying Consistent on Social
If you’re like any business owner I know you wear many hats.
As entrepreneurs we are decision makers, marketers, content creators, writers, and social media managers. We do it all! So staying consistent on social media just seems like one more thing to do.
Here is how I view social media though. It is literally the billboard for our business. It shows people how serious we are, how honest we are, and how active we are with our business. So leaving this realm untapped can be a huge mistake.
How do we approach this without it being completely overwhelming? I believe the answer is two fold.
One thing I highly recommend is batching your content. What is batching content? Basically it just means you set aside a day where you write out all of your content at once. When people show up on social media every day it seems like it would be so exhausting having to create as much as they do on a daily basis. I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s most likely that they are not. When blocking your schedule, set aside a day that is dedicated strictly to content creation. This is what I do for my business.
Secondly is to use an outside source to schedule. Once you have all that content created, you can use an app or scheduler to have it post when you want. For instance when I use Instagram I use Planoly. You can organize your photos, write your captions, and even schedule when you want your post to be posted. It literally can relieve you from that gnawing feeling in the back of your head that you should be posting something today.
If it still feels like too much you can choose to hire a social media manager. I’ve done work like this for others and I know it can take a lot off of someone’s plate.
